Wang VS Access across the Internet
Lightspeed Internet Server, also known as Web VT, allows users to access Wang VS systems using common Internet protocols such as HTTP and FTP.
With Web VT, you can
- Access the VS from anywhere in the world with a Java-based web browser
- View the familiar LSVT screen layout from your browser, including the PF key button bar
- Complete FTP file transfers via any FTP client, with document conversion
Using HTTP, Web VT allows Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, and other Java-enabled browsers to load and execute a Java-based file Terminal application. This Java application provides 4230 or 2256C terminal emulation to a Wang VS from anywhere on the Internet or your Intranet.
Using FTP, Web VT allows file transfers between the VS and most popular FTP clients. In addition, it supports document conversions from DP, WP, and WP+ to most common word processing formats.
